What is ITIL?

 

ITIL is a framework of best practice techniques to facilitate the delivery of high-quality information technology services. ITIL outlines an exhaustive set of management procedures to support organizations in achieving both value and quality in IT operations.

 

As an IT Service Management (ITSM) framework, ITIL provides a systematic approach to the provisioning and management of IT services, from inception through design, implementation, operation and continual improvement. The processes identified and described within ITIL are supplier and platform independent and apply to all aspects of IT infrastructure.

 

The names "ITIL" and "IT Infrastructure Library" are Registered Trade Marks of the Office of Government Commerce (OGC), which is an Office of the United Kingdom's Treasury.

 

The new version of this framework is ITIL v3 launched in 2007.

INSTRUCTOR PROFILE

Mr. Parag Patki is ITIL Certified, Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) from ISACA, USA, CISSP from ISC2, USA and  BS 7799 Lead Auditor from BSI, UK. His domain expertises are IT Service Management and Information Security Management.  

He has 12+ years experience in IT Services and is a recognized trainer. In last 6 years he has trained over 2000 participants on various IT disciplines including ITIL, ISO 20000, ISO 27001, COBIT, Cyber Law and Penetration testing. He has also spoken at national / international conferences and leading professional member organizations like ISACA Chapter in Mumbai.

Mr.Parag has been a leading consultant who has worked on ITIL, ISO 20000, ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 consulting projects. He has led projects of ITIL implementation in ONGC (a fortune 500 Company), GTL Limited, Star TV and Maersk. He has trained and worked with teams for ITIL implementation from Reliance Industries Limited, CMS Limited, Aker Kvarner Powergas, Datamatics Techlogies Ltd. 

He has also led ISO 27001 implementation projects in Aptech Limited, Ship Building Center, GTL Limited, Mahindra and Mahindra Limited, TVS Limited, Tech Process Limited. He was also involved in implementation of ISO 9000 in a BPO company and a Telecom infrastructure Company.

His articles are published in Indian Express group, a leading publication house in India.

He loves training and is a hard-core trainer.  His style of training of making things simple, mixed with humor, makes participants comfortable through out the training sessions.
